Contact tracing is widely recognized as an effective public health tool for suppression and containment of viruses and outbreaks. It involves identifying new infections, monitoring their path, and notifying their contacts.
Historically, this was done manually by specialists, which can take a lot of time and resources, especially in larger communities and overwhelm the system. Today, technology gives us the tools to mount a citizen-led effort to track infections and keep ourselves and each other out of harm’s way on a large scale.
